Emmy-winning "Shōgun" producer to visit Taiwan
The 2024 Taiwan Creative Content Fest (TCCF), organized by the Taiwan Creative Content Agency, will be held from November 5 to 8 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 2, 7F. This year's TCCF MARKET brings together more than 88 agencies and companies from around the world, including the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), Gyeonggi Content Agency (GCA), TV TOKYO, Fuji TV, Lotte Corporation, and the Singapore Film Society, all of which will be coming to Taiwan to set up booths to engage in copyright transactions and networking. Meanwhile, TCCF PITCHING will feature awards sponsored by CJ ENM HK and Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN)'s Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF), as well as various cross-industry organizations in the fields of technology, finance, and animation, offering a total prize pool of TWD 7.35 million with more than 30 awards plus international festival resources. The PITCHING workshop is highlighted by Eriko MIYAGAWA, producer of "Shōgun", winner of a record-breaking 18 Emmy Awards, who will be making her way to Taiwan to help teams enhance their professionalism and international market insights.
TCCF MARKET: KOCCA leads delegation to Taiwan seeking IP adaptation collaboration
This year's TCCF MARKET features more than 88 organizations and over 100 booths. The international participant list is even more extensive than that of previous years, with KOCCA and GCA leading a delegation of South Korean companies and hosting press conferences and networking activities. Other high-profile participants include the Korean Film Council, Kakao Entertainment, Japan's Tokyo TV and Fuji TV, Rakuten Group, Inc., Spo Entertainment, K2 Pictures, Cluster Inc., Singapore Film Society, and Mediacorp TV Singapore Pte Ltd.
Domestic exhibitors will include not only major Taiwanese TV stations and production companies, but also technology firms such as UserJoy Technology, Inventec, ADATA Technology, and ASUS Cloud, seeking cross-industry investment and collaboration opportunities. Eight film-related city and county government agencies across Taiwan — the Taipei Film Commission, Taichung Film Development Foundation, Film Development and Production Center of the Kaohsiung City Government's Bureau of Cultural Affairs, New Taipei City Film Assist Center, Taoyuan Film Assistance and Development Center, Nantou County Government News and Administration Department, Film Assist Center of Chiayi City, and Tainan City Government Audiovisual Support Center — will also be setting up booths to promote filming resources and invite production teams from around the world to come shoot in Taiwan.
TCCF PITCHING: Generous prizes and resources; renowned international producers to lead pitching workshop
This years' TCCF PITCHING offers abundant prizes and resources. Apart from the USD 30,000 provided by the "TAICCA AWARD: Best Project" and the TWD 300,000 provided by the "TAICCA AWARD: Best Story", there is also the "Chunghwa Telecom Award", a cash prize of TWD 600,000 provided by Chunghwa Telecom, a top sponsor for three consecutive years. Taiwan Mobile and FarEasTone Telecommunications will respectively provide the "MyVideo Initiative Award" and the "friDay Video Original Story Award", both of which come with cash prizes of TWD 300,000.
New award sponsors this year include the South Korean entertainment group CJ ENM HK, Blintn, ADATA Technology, First Bank, Genesis Wave Film Co., ZW ENM, Shoei Contents Corporation, and Philippines' QCinema Project Market. The Taipei Film Commission, Taichung Film Development Foundation, and Kaohsiung Film Archive, as well as various local TV stations including Taigi TV, FTV, EBC, Hakka TV, TVBS, GTV, SET TV, and CTS, will also be offering generous prizes. In terms of international festival resources, certain winning teams will receive an opportunity to participate in the Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) of the 2025 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, the 16th CNEX Chinese Doc Forum (CCDF), and France's Series Mania, helping Taiwanese works break into the global market.
Esteemed judges and trainers join forces to raise international competitiveness
TCCF PITCHING has invited many prominent international figures to serve as decision makers, including Hojin KWON, Senior Executive Director of the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS), Banjong PISANTHANAKUN, director of the Thai classic horror film "Shutter" , and Srishti BEHL, senior producer of Phantom Studios, Netflix's first production partner in India. Together, these decision makers will apply their professional judgment to select the pitches with the highest commercial potential.
Before the pitches, teams will participate in a training workshop led by renowned international filmmakers and producers, including Eriko MIYAGAWA, one of the producers behind the Emmy-winning "Shōgun" ; Hsinyi LIU, line producer of "Fleabag" , one of the biggest critical and commercial hit comedy series in recent years; and Martin VANDAS, CEO of the Czech animation company MAUR film. These experts will help improve the content and presentation of the pitches to increase their chances of entering the global market.
The 2024 TCCF FORUM revolves around the theme "Together for Impact" and will feature 15 panels and keynotes by speakers from 12 countries. Covering topics such as variety shows, film and television, animation, children's content, and IPs, these sessions will explore international strategies and co-production experiences, how to adapt and localize IPs, and emerging trends in the global market. TAICCA Chairman Homme Tsai noted that this year's TCCF has managed to invite many prominent producers and film/TV companies from around the world. The hope is to attract more international funding and cross-border IPs, and facilitate even more quality international co-production projects that will provide Taiwanese stars and businesses with opportunities to expand overseas, increasing the global visibility and market share of Taiwanese works.
